What are we working on?
Reading: We are reading for information using books at the students levels. Also, everyday each student works on their fluency, along with using MyOn which is an online reading program that works at the students academic levels.
Writing: We are looking into informational texts and pulling out important details to support an idea that the students have. We will also be working on letter writing, along with fact and opinion pieces.
Math:
Grade 2: Place Value- Ones, Tens, Hundreds and Thousands
Grade 3: Measurement using clocks(time), liters, cm, inches and solving word problems using those forms of measurement.
*Every grade uses DREAMBOX, which is an online math program that works at the students academic levels and continues to strengthen skills.
Science: For a few weeks we are going to look at Habitats (ocean, forest, desert, rain-forest, forest, pond...) and learn about what animals and plants live there. We will be creating a Habitat Diorama and at the end of the unit based on the students favorite one. They will also write about why it is there favorite giving some details about what they learned.
Social Studies: Once we finish our science unit on Habitats, we are going to move into Symbols in the United States that are important to us.
